Erin Fetherston's calm and airy living area

The process of decorating our new home has taken longer than I'd hoped. The longer things are delayed, the more I often second guess some of my decisions and progressively delay things even further.  But the time has finally come where I can delay no more, as looking at the current state of things is driving me crazy. Predictably I've gone back to my original ideas on almost everything, many of which are very similar from our old apartment, but what can I say, I guess I'm a creature of habit, and once you find a formula that really works well for you, sticking with it will pretty much guarantee you'll like it in the longer term.

Lately I've been addicted to checking out the design projects by One King's Lane. So many are right up my alley. Their project for Erin Featherston was a particular favourite. Light, bright and neutral with little touches of glam thrown in for good measure.

This little vignette in particular has stuck in my mind - the rustic wood console in curved modern lines is sleek, functional and sculptural and brings a much needed earthy tone to the otherwise very bright and light space. I love the idea of repurposing a baby's Moses basket as a super handy catch-all around the house.

The rest of the space has a bit more of a formal tone to it, offset a bit with the natural woven jute rug layered with a pale oriental in the living area. These elements, along with the rustic console  really give the space a bit of soul and prevent it from becoming to cold or austere

These photos are so gorgeous. I would love to come home to this living room after a long day and just relax. Are you implementing a similar design style to these photos in your home?
