Park View House by Arent and Pyke

Yet another favourite from one of my very favourite design firms, the Australian based Arent and Pyke. As I wrote the text to share these images, I realized there was one common element used throughout the entire space that really elevated it and added a bit of modern edge - black! The use of black accessories, hardware or details in a space with softer tones immediately creates a bit of friction and takes it from being just another pretty space to something with a bit of edge and attitude.

An all white kitchen has a feeling of warmth with soft green cabinetry and warm wood accents. Black hardware and appliances add a bit of an industrial modern edge.

I love how the soft, soothing tones and light wood in this space are offset with black lighting. I immediately spotted the work of Australian artist Kirra Jamison, I love how the mix of colours in this piece play off the soft pastels of the space.

All white interiors with simple black accents given the stage to colourful abstract modern art pieces.

Soft blush pink and warm gold tones are given a bit of edge with black accents and modern art.

The black accents add so much definition to a simple space like this one. It is tasteful and chic all at once. The picture of the kitchen cabinets/drawers looks incredible with those wood panels!
