At home: Toronto designer Lori Harrison

Toronto based furniture and textile artist Lori Harrison's home has a clean modern aesthetic with a strong emphasis on natural prints and textures that are the signature of her eponymous line. Fresh, bright and marked with contemporary clean lines, the space feels airy and spacious despite for a small condo. Warm woods, rich textiles and small splashes of colour really bring the space to life and make it feel warm and inviting. Touches of Lori's own work are found throughout her home with her own textiles, (her handprinted pillows are a favourite of mine!) as well as pieces from her own artwork and furniture. Lori's belief that our homes and our lives should be filled with beautiful, meaningful things definitely comes through. All of the components work together cohesively to create a feeling that is relaxed and approachable yet still refined - understated, modern elegance.

Stay tuned for an interview with Lori tomorrow and a further insight on her work and process.

The design in these rooms are so clean cut yet somehow give off a very cosy vibe. I'll have to keep the palette in mind the next time I remodel my Sydney apartment.
