A very cool townhouse in west London

My sister and I were having a discussion the other day on the notion of "coolness" - how we define it, who we think would qualify and whether or not 'cool' people actually feel 'cool'. We never reached any final conclusions,  as 'coolness', much like beauty seems to be in the eye of the beholder. However, also like beauty, there are a few definitives we can generally all agree on. Pharrell is cool. As is this townhouse in west London. I fell in love when I first saw it in the pages of Living Etc a few months ago. It's polished enough to be a sophisticated grown up space, but with a playful edge and lots of eclectic pop art thrown in for a bit of a funky retro feeling.

The art above the mantle (and also in the hallway, below) really sets off this space. I love this series of graphic retro babes in bold blocked colours - so fun, and a little bit sexy. (The prints are by Gerald Laing were purchased through Themes and Variations)

A wine collection I can really get down with! - also doubles as a piece of modern art through the colourful bottle tops.

This the picture that really did it for me! The tiles, the art, the staircase, even the handbag on the staircase - I want it all!

Brigitte Bardot above the bed adds to the 1960's mood in the bedroom that opens up into a calm and elegant dressing room.

Hi,beautiful house. But in my opinion, is missing something more natural, something like the pieces from BRABBU. One of my favorite brands :)

I will keep following you :)
