Tomorrow, Thailand...

Today we set off on an exciting adventure - our first trip to Asia, visiting Thailand and briefly, Japan. This has been a fantasy vacation of mine for a very long time and it still hasn't entirely sunk in that I'm actually going to be there myself. We plan to spend much of our time in the southern Thai Islands - Koh Phi Phi, Koh Samui and some others as well. Fortunately many hotel rates in Thailand are quite reasonable, so we are able to splurge on a few nights at some 'fancier' places as well. I've had a very fun time perusing so many beautiful hotels through Mr and Mrs Smith. I can't wait to explore all the natural and architectural beauty of Thailand, and of course, partake in lots of feasting on one of my most favourite types of food. I'd love to know if you've visited Thailand and what your favourite moments or must-see spots were - and of course, any restaurant recommendations. (A big thank you in advance!) I'll be sharing some images on Instagram along the way...

Hope you all have a fantastic end to summer and a lovely long labour day weekend
 - see you in a few weeks...

The restaurant at Jim Thompson's house is very nice. I've had dinner there several times. For shopping - take the sky train out to the Jim Thompson outlet. Can't remember which station to exit at but that's not hard to find out. The outlet is a five story building on the left as you walk down the soi (an easy walk - don't let the taxi drivers tell you otherwise!). I enjoy all the Jim Thompson stores and one must go to Chatachuk (Weekend) market. Take the sky train there and go early. It is brutally hot there as the day heats up.
