This week: Mason at Pavilion

I've been a little scarce around here on the blog lately, but behind the scenes we've been working like mad getting everything together for the new Pavilion store location. It's been a labour of love and we've had a fantastic team working together to (hopefully) make it something quite special. One invaluable component to our new store has been the team at Mason Studio. I first learnt of Mason Studio and their work at the Toronto Interior Design Show last year when they wowed their audience with this striking display (below).

I've had the pleasure of getting to know Stanley and Ashley of Mason Studio a little better over the past year and have loved watching their portfolio of inspiring ideas and beautiful spaces expand. Some of my recent favourites have been this hauntingly beautiful installation they created for the Junction Design Crawl last year (below), featuring a multitude of glowing orbs (actually made from paper cups!) and a live performance by a harpist.

Their work on the Marilyn Monroe cafe in Oakville, Ontario (below) took me by surprise. Given the title of the space, I'd had visions of a retro inspired diner but their creation was striking simple and thoroughly modern, all whilst remaining just as glamorous as its legendary namesake.

This week, Mason Studio will reveal the beautiful installation they have created for the Toronto Design Offsite festival hosted at the new Pavilion store. Having been lucky enough to see it up close and personal over the past few days, I can personally guarantee that it will not fail to impress. What's better yet - you'll be able to get an exclusive sneak peak at the new store and our brand new furniture line, designed in-house.

For complete details on the exhibit and visiting times, visit the Pavilion blog and the Toronto Design Offsite website. If you are in the Toronto area, be sure to check it out and come in and say hello! For those not in the area, I'll be sharing some sneak peaks on Instagram as well.

I love the design of the Marilyn Monroe cafe! The modern light fixtures are the perfect finishing touch.
