Black and white drama

Every now and then, even the special little details of everyday homes just aren't enough to  work up your creative juices and you need something a little more extraordinary to capture your imagination and make it soar. I've been working on very exciting project at work that involves a whole re-invention of our whole work space and a new direction for the brand. Left with a blank canvas, the creative wheels have started turning, almost to the point where they are spinning out of control as they fill with new ideas. The vision is open, clean and very modern. This space really captures that feeling.

The Lucerne House in New Zealand, was designed by architect Daniel Marshall and built on the edge of an ancient crater along the Orakei Basin. The strong lines and black accents against crisp white and glass add a sense of high drama while still being simple and understated. The focal point of the open space is the hand blown bubble chandelier by New Zealand artist Katie Brown. That glass and wood staircase has been the subject of many an architectural fantasy of mine...

Beautiful shots! Love the contrast in colors and layers of the space. Of course the tom Dixon lights are all killers!

Hope the weekend sale was a success!

Fabulous place but needs more warmth for my liking. The light fixture is stunning! {Sorry, I missed you at the Princess Margaret Showhome blogger event}.

You're very good at writing! I left like I was reading an article in Elle Decor. I love make overs because they inspire creativity and a usually a new atmosphere can spark new ideas!I love the hand blown bubble chandelier by New Zealand artist Katie Brown. It's unique enough to be a great focal point, although still simple to create unity within the room.
