Trudging through slushy streets today has had me longing for a warm escape - sunny skies and warm breezes, the feeling of endless afternoons, a moment to ponder to yourself, to pause ...
and reflect on the beauty around you, indulge in a little afternoon nap...
I was instantly captured by Vanessa Paradis' stunning photoshoot for Vs magazine, tranquil home with it's simplicity mixed with flourished details - an ornately carved wood gate and the carved wood panel above the fountain, and the bright billowing bougainvillea against minimal and almost primitive accessories. The contrast adds an element of intrigue to the space. Overall, there's a beautiful sense of calm.
Hope you're all enjoying a lovely weekend, here are some fun things to check out:
- Who's that girl? series at J. Crew
- the incredibly graceful Virtue and Moir
- Mrs. Literary Book Club
- Bright stripes for Spring
- a chocolate chandelier
... and of course, don't forget to enter the give-away!

That door is amazing! Beautiful pictures.
Ahh.... I wish I was sitting by that pool right now!
The waterfall is to die for.

i love vanessa paradis. she is so underrated but so amazing. i think she took a step back to raise her family with johnny but she is fabulous in her own rite. great post!
She definitely is! - love her in the new Chanel campaign also, she looks stunning!
oh such a beautiful place with those fuchsia flowers bunches!
Total love!! The spots are oozing freshness!
I love the flowers :)
Lovely find! You have me craving sunshine and little dresses...
*sigh* I could watch Virtue and Moir over + over again. Watching them once more last night, a re-cap on the closing ceremonies, I cried. Their poise, grace, composition and connect are unreal. What a proud moment to be a Canadian :)
I could lay out by that pool with the small waterfall all day! Just lovely!
SK - yes, they are so beautiful to watch. (I secretly wish they were together off the ice also...)
Oh my, if only I could be there now, relaxing with a cocktail in hand! It looks absolutely gorgeous as does Vanessa. That pool, that waterfall feature, all to much!
